My pre-race motivations
So before most races, especially the ones I’m super nervous about, my friend John makes a speech or say a bunch of things like quotes or tips that calm me down and get me in the zone. XC Practice Day 22

So normally runs after back to back hard days SUCK. But this actually wasn’t that bad! I definitely felt it in my calves, but not nearly as much as last week. I didn’t run insanely fast but the run didn’t drag on either.

AHHHH. So happy with this race! I can’t believe I PR’d by that much.
It sucked because we didn’t beat our rivals, but I feel like the pressure of that really helped our team as a whole. Even though we came in 2nd, we had PRs from almost everyone on the team which is awesome.
My friend, Kiera, (who I wrote about last time) I passed her way sooner...

Really crappy workout. The first two miles were alright, I felt good. They were 30 seconds slower than my last workout, but I still felt like I put in the same amount of effort.
The second set sucked. I felt like I was going to puke the first whole mile and only started to pass a few people in the last 800 or so.
But my friend, Kat, really cheered me up....

Ah!
I’m swamped with schoolwork right now, so I’m going to post my latest practices probably Wednesday night. But I have a 4k tomorrow and I’m super nervous because this race is going to be really close. We’re running against our rival team, and our girls are pretty evenly matched! Wish us luck! :D

Technically not a ‘practice’ day. This was my sucky weekend run! It actually wasn’t that bad, but it was half of what I’m supposed to run. It was the longest I could squeeze in between church (don’t ask!) and this party I had to go to.

Fartlek: five minutes hard, two minutes jog - 3 times
